Missing teen in Moreno Valley may be kidnapping

Norma’s  remains were discovered under brush at the edge of a property on Theodore Street in East Moreno Valley about five days later. Jesse Perez Torres, 36, was subsequently arrested and charged with her murder.

Original Story: Norma Lopez, 17, went to her summer school classes at Valley View High School on Thursday morning and has not returned home and the police believe she may have been taken against her will.

“I just wanted to say that if you know anything about her, just contact us in any way…that we miss her, and we just want her home safe.  And that if you’re watching, sis, please call us.  We just need you back. We’re not mad at you or anything,” said Sonja Lopez, Norma’s older sister.

Norma planned to meet a friend and her sister at home in the 27000 block of Cottonwood Avenue in Moreno Valley.  She would have finished class at 10:00 a.m. and began walking south on Nason Street to Dracaea Avenue.  She may have possible taken a shortcut through a field, said the police.

There have been reports of a newer-model green SUV speeding away from the area…
