Dawn Viens: Missing woman’s husband awakes from coma after jumping off cliff

Dawn Viens
UPDATE 2013 – David Viens told the Los Angeles County sheriff’s detectives that he put Dawn’s body in a 55-gallon drum filled with water and left her to simmer for four days in his restaurant near Long Beach, the Thyme Contemporary Café. During his trial he later recanted and stated he did not do that, but he had tied her up so he could have some peace and when he came back found hours later she was dead.  David had his daughter Jacqueline, who ended up testifying against him, to send a text message from Dawn’s phone saying she was in Florida.  David was sentenced to 15-years to life for the murder of Dawn.  Dawn’s remains are still missing.

The husband of missing Dawn Viens, who jumped off a cliff on Wednesday to avoid being arrested, has awoken from a coma on Friday.
He sustained internal injuries and broken bones after his leap off the cliff, and was taken in to surgery after being rescued by a helicopter and then transported to an area hospital.

“It’s amazing that he survived. That was a pretty steep cliff, and he landed squarely on the rocks below. The area is steps away from the Trump National Golf Course,” Los Angeles County Sheriff‘s Lt. Don Coleman told AOL News.
He previously told Los Angeles County sheriff’s detectives that he placed the body of 39-year-old Dawn Viens in a 55-gallon drum filled with water and left her to simmer for four days in his restaurant near Long Beach, the Thyme Contemporary Café.
