How to find someone in England

How to Get a Job in Europe: Names, addresses, phone numbers, fax numbers, and websites for over 2,000 employers in England, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, ... 18 other countries (The Job Finders Series)I got an email the other day from someone that was looking for a person that had moved from the US to England.  They wanted to know how can they go about tracking that person down.  This is the advise I gave him:

I would try to a general look on Google. Starting with the full first name and last name.  Then try the search with a variation of the first name.  For example, Michael would be Mike and the last name and see what comes up.
If you can remember a sibling name that can be help, because sometimes you can find someone through their siblings on Facebook and then once you find them then go through their friends list and see if you can locate them.
Also, you may want to try Ancestry.com.   When people are around their 60’s they tend to want to do their ancestry and will leave messages on boards looking for their relatives.  I was able to find someone who I had not seen in 30 years just that way.
If you are sure they are still there, you might try just plain old phone book for England. Something like this
