Al and Rita Chretien: Couple from Canada missing in the U.S. Found

UPDATE:  Oct 1, 2012 –  The remains Albert Chretien, the man who left his wife in their car while he went for help after their vehicle broke down has been found.

Hunters found his body on Saturday in a wooded area in Northern Elko County, Nevada near Merritt Mountain.

Albert and his wife, Rita got lost on a road trip from their home in British Columbia to Las Vegas.  Albert decided to walk for help and Rita stayed in the vehicle for 48 days until she heard searches looking for her, and flagged them down.

Authorities and volunteers are helping search for a missing Canadian couple that were heading to Las Vegas. Al and Rita Chretien have not been seen since March 19th, when they were spotted on surveillance video in Baker, Oregon.

The Baker County Police Dept. has taken it upon themselves to head the search for the missing couple. Please pass the word to people that you know, to keep an eye out for this couple. They may have taken a backroad instead of Interstate 84.
