Declan Crouch: Skeletal remains found at Machines Beach FOUND

Declan Crouch

Update:  Police divers found Declan’s body in a mangrove swamp area near his Machans Beach home on June 1.  His family had to wait over a week for DNA confirmation that it was the 13-year-old.

Cairns Police Detective Senior Sergeant Glenn Horan said the death was not suspicious and it appeared the teenager had taken his own life.

Back in March, I wrote about missing 13-year-old Declan Crouch from Australia.  The family had gone international with a plea for help to find their missing son.

It was such a strange case.  He was on his front yard one minute and then gone the next.

On Wednesday, divers found skeletal remains in a mangrove swamp at Machans Beach which is north of the Crouch’s home in Cairns.

There is no evidence of foul play and they are not sure if the remains of Declan, but they should know tomorrow and if it is they will probably be able to say if they feel it was suicide or an accident.
