Search on for missing 2-year-old Dixie Beach child

Police are searching for a missing 2-year-old  Dixie Beach child.

The child, who has not been identified, was in the water among other adults and children when she went missing.

The family moved to the Dixie Beach, Kentucky area, which is near the Ohio River, a week ago.

Louisville Metro Police Dept. spokesman Dwight Mitchell said that the child was in the river at one point, but they do not know if she was there when she went missing.

The child was in the shallow part of the shore with other adults and children, but it is not know if she was wearing a floatation device.  The Ohio River is known for its strong current.

The community is searching for her while the emergency crew search the water.  Hope is that she wandered off and is lost.
