Has Madeleine McCann been found in India?

Madeleine McCann was only 3-years-old when she disappeared from her hotel room where she was vacationing with her parents in Praia da Luz, Portugal on May 3, 2007.

Over the weekend, there has been reports of sightings of her in India from a British tourist and other witnesses, who have said the little girl resembled Madeleine, who would be 8-years-old now.

The Chandigarh Tribune reports that an American tourist tried to take the girl from a Belgian man and a French woman who said that the child is their daughter.

Authorities have allegedly taken copies of the passports and have done a DNA test on the little girl.

A spokesperson for the McCann family, Clarence Mitchell, stated the family is looking into the sighting but that it is “no more credible” than other clues over the years.

True, but have they ever taken DNA from a sighting before.   And remember Madeleine had a very distinct marking on her one eye.  I wonder if the investigators saw a similar mark on this child, which caused them to want a DNA test.

As soon as I know, I will let you know.

  1. Hello Jerrie:

Let's hope that they found this little girl. It's been 7 days now since they took the DNA test, surely they would have found something out by now but if it was indeed a match, they would probably not release it until they captured the child. It must have been somewhat suspicious or you would think the parents/custodian would supply her birth certificate or paperwork. I've got my fingers crossed. Please update as soon as you hear and thanks for all your work!

    Best Regards,

    Derek
