Pamela Salant: Missing in Mt. Hood National Forest

Update:  A helicopter crew thinks they may have found Pamela walking in Lindsey creek, Tuesday afternoon.  She waved at them as they flew by.  A airlift crew was called in and it turned out it was Pamela.  She was taken to a nearby hospital, were she is reported to fine.

Pamela Salant, 28, was last seen near Bear Lake on Saturday.  She was there to camp with her boyfriend, Aric Essig over the weekend.

Pamela and Aric put down their gear in one area and then decided to split up to find a better campsite, and Pamela has not been seen since.

"I walked all around the lake expecting to meet up with her at some point, and I walked all the way back to the camp and just didn't see her," said Aric.

Volunteers are searching the steep wilderness area around Bear Lake where Pamela was last seen.

Aric said they had gotten into a small argument but he didn't think that she would leave the mountain without him.

Pamela was due to work Monday at the Treehouse Nursery in Portland, but she did not show up.

Pamela is 5'3" tall and 125 pounds with blond hair.

If you have any information or believe you have seen Pamela, please call the Hood River County Sheriff's Office at 541-386-2711.
