Elisa Baker, 43,  has plead guilty to killing Zahra Baker, 10, who was reported missing on October 9.  Zahra’s prosthetic leg and upper arm bone were found on Christie Road and her torso and pelvic area were found on Dudley Shoals Road a mile away.  The rest of her body is still missing.

Adam Baker, Zahra’s father said at the hearing that he would never forgive Elisa for taking his daughter.

Elisa’s plead agreement included pleading guilty to second-degree murder with aggravating factors, beggary, obstruction of justice and six other felonies.  She was sentenced to a minimum of 14 years and a maximum of 18 years.

Elisa told the Hickory Police Department on November 19, that Zahra had died of natural causes.

When Zahra was first missing, Adam was criticized for not knowing that his daughter was missing right away, and the prosecution said he could go two weeks without seeing Zahra.

Adam’s response was, “I smoked marijuana more than I spent quality time with my daughter.”
