Michelle Le: Remains found on Saturday identified

UPDATE:  11.1.2012 Giselle Esteban, 28, was found guilty by an Alameda County jury for the murder of Michelle Le.

The remains that were found off a dirt tail in Alameda County have been identified by the coroner as the remains of Michelle Le.

Michelle Le was last seen May 27, at Kaiser Hospital in Hayward.  She went to take a break and get something from her car and was never seen again.

Giselle Esteban, Michelle’s friend from high school in San Diego was arrested earlier this month and charged with her murder.

Authorities said the remains were found by a volunteer search team that came out on Saturday to look for Michelle in the Pleasanton area.  The remains were so badly decomposed the authorities could not tell if it was male or female.

Police believe that Esteban attacked Michelle in the parking garage of the hospital.  Michelle’s car was found about a half-mile away from the hospital.

Police were able to focus on a specific area because of the cell phone records.

Estaban is due in court on Monday and she has denied having anything to do with Michelle’s disappearance.
