Police searching for missing members of a Florida family

Karen Lee Burger, 57,  her daughter Christina Thompson, 38, Karen’s son-in-law, Allen Hilgefort, 33,  and Karen’s grandson Wyatt Hilgefort , 2, from New Smyrna Beach, Florida are missing.

Maxwell Lee, Karen’s father, reported her missing in August.  Lee told the police that his daughter had trouble with alcohol and drugs and had taken off in the past.  When authorities began investigating the disappearance they realized not only was Karen was missing, but members of her family.

All four have been living  at Karen’s New Smyna Beach house until she asked them to leave on July 25.  Authorities know that Christina Allen and their child did leave and went to stay at the All-Suite Motel in Edgewater, and remained there till July 28, because the motel manager saw them there.

Lee told authorities that Karen also went to the All-Suite Motel a few hours after them, and left her small dog at home.

If you have any information about the whereabouts of Burger, Thompson, Hilgefort and/or Wyatt, please call New Smyna Beach Police Dept. at 386-424-2223.
