Amanda Leeth Taylor: Missing from Alabama since October FOUND

Three people have been arrested for the murder of Amanda Taylor.  Here remains were found in an area near the intersection of Gnat Pond Road and Sixth Street, and she was positively identified by the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences.

Authorities said Ronald Eugene Weems, 33, 609 Moss Ave., is charged with murder and abuse of a corpse. Laurel Ann Pruett, 35, 1306 Robertson Blvd., Sheffield, is charged with murder and first-degree hindering prosecution. Matthew Richard Fox, 21, 1702 Beckman Drive, Florence, is charged with murder, abuse of a corpse and first-degree hindering prosecution.


Amanda Taylor, 32, has not been seen since October 17. 2011.  She was last seen at a house at 609 Moss Avenue in MuscleShoals, Alabama.

On Tuesday, authorities searched the house on Moss Avenue for clues in the disappearance of Amanda.

“The search was in an effort to collect some evidence that we believed was in the house and to follow up on the case of the missing person that we are actively working,” said Police Chief Robert Evans.

During the search, Ronald Weems, the former husband of Brandy Weems, Amanda’s sister, and  his mother and his girlfriend were taken into custody for questioning.

During the search, one of the dogs of a HEMSI search dog team alerted and jumped into the trunk of a Honda Accord that was in the driveway.  The car was towed from the residence to be processed by authorities.

Authorities also used sledge hammers to break concrete and took away bags with broken concrete.
