Update:  Daniel pleaded guilty to two felony counts of theft over $15,000 and 11 other felony counts were dismissed as part of the plea agreement.  He is to be sentence in April 2012.

Royal “Scoop” Daniel, 66,  who had a practice in Breckenridge, Colorado, went missing in April 2007.  He was last seen at his office on the 100 block of Ski Hill Road in Breckenridge.  A security camera caught Daniel leaving his office at 5:35 a.m.
A cell phone call came in to 911 around 7:48 a.m. the following morning but nothing was said.  The dispatch called back but it went to voice mail.  No one thought that Daniel voluntarily left as all his belongings were in his home, and his Golden Retriever was found alone in his office.  Daniel’s  laptop, motorcycle and passport were gone, and his family and friends wondered if he was a victim of foul play.

Authorities discovered while investigating his disappearance that he had bilked his clients out of money through real estate exchanges, and subsequently, they issued an arrest warrant for felony theft.

Now that we know what happened to Daniel, and it looks as though he voluntarily left, it is a good way to look over his past investigation into his disappearance to educate ourselves about future disappearances.

Here is the video from Discovery that gives you all the details about Daniel.
