Franco Garcia: Missing Boston college student Found

UPDATE:  A man walking his dog reported seeing a body in the water Wednesday, and it turned out to be the body of Franco Garcia.

Authorities said the body was found in an area of heavy weeds, which had limited visibility during their searches.
The family said police reported that the clothes on the body matched what Garcia was wearing when he was last seen and his wallet and glasses were recovered.
Garcia’s parents said police told them they will investigate whether their son died in an accident or if foul play was a factor.

Previous Story:

Franco Garcia, 21, was last seen on Wednesday around 12:15 a.m. at Mary Ann’s Bar at 1937 Beacon Street in Brighton.

Franco is a evening student at Boston College.  He has not been to classes or shown up for work since Wednesday.  His vehicle was found parked at the college where he left it on Tuesday.

The police were able to track a phone call to Franco’s cell phone around 1:15 a.m. on Wednesday, and they think he was heading back to the college.

“His family and friends state that it is highly unusual for him not to contact anyone for this amount of time,” said the police.

Student’s have been circulating flyers and will meet at Mary Ann’s on Sunday to help spread the word.

If you know of his whereabouts, please call the Newton Police Dept. at 617-796-2100.
