Abreeya Brown and Ashley Conaway missing after forced into truck of car Found

UPDATE:  Abreeya Brown and Ashley Conaway were found March 25, 2012, buried in a shallow grave on Detroit’s west side.

Joyce Watson, 84, grandmother of Abreeya Brown, said police called the house at 5:30 p.m. today, explaining the women were found buried near 6 Mile and Telegraph.

“They said they found them,” said Watston, who lives with Lois Brown, Abreeya’s mother. “She’s a wreck. It’s hard. But she wasn’t too surprised. She just said she wanted closure. She knew they couldn’t live this long.”

Abreeya Brown, 18 and Ashley Conaway, 21,  of Hamtramck, Michigan (near Detroit) were put into the trunk of a silver sedan on Tuesday and have not been seen since.

The family believes they were kidnapped to keep them silent so they would not testify against Brandon Cain, who allegedly shot at Lois Brown and killed her and also allegedly shot at Ashley.  A bullet grazed her head.

Cain allegedly offered Abreeya and Ashley money to not testify, but they refused.  Lois Brown, Abreeya’s mother said that Cain pointed a gun at their heads and forced them into the truck of a car.

Three men have been arrested in connection with the abduction, Brandon Cain, 25, Bryant Lee, 24, and Andre Todd-Douglas, 34.

The can that fits the description of the one that the young women were put into was found burned in Detroit.

Abreeya and Ashley are still missing.
