Carrie Elaine Gentry: Missing from Shelby County Alabama Found

UPDATE:  Elaine’s car was successfully recovered from the quarry on April 11, 2012.   Sheriff Curry reports it contained an unidentified body. The body has been escorted to the Jefferson County Coroner/Medical Examiner’s Office for positive identification and an autopsy.  The vehicle has been secured for forensic examination.

UPDATE: On April 10, 2012, divers found Elaine’s 2002 silver Lexus SUV at the bottom of an old rock quarry near Leeds.  Divers used sonar to search the bottom of the lake.

Sheriff Chris Curry says this discovery changes their investigation.

“Well obviously we would have to believe it’s foul play.  The car is behind a locked gate.  It’s off in a quarry.  It’s no where near her home.  Even before we can raise it and take a look at it in detail, those circumstances certainly indicate foul play involved,” Curry says.

UPDATE:  The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is doing an outstanding job in their search for missing Elaine.

Sheriff Chris Curry is showing the rest how a search should be done.

During his press conference, he brought up the sheriff’s Facebook page and asked people to search and then report were they searched and post it on the Facebook page.

Please see video below.

Chris Curry is a leader and I hope that other law enforcement follow his example and have the community join in the search for their missing citizen.

“Go on Facebook to the Shelby County Site and befriend us and tell us what areas you searched…we are asking you to be interactive,” said Curry
