An arrest was made on Wednesday, April 25, in connection with the murder of 16-year-old Phylicia Barnes.

Michael Johnson, 29,  the former boyfriend of Phylicia’s older half-sister, Deena, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, reports CBS news.

Phylicia’s body was  recovered from the Susquehanna River in Maryland on April 20, 2011.  Phylicia who lived in North Carolina with her mother was visiting her half-sister in Baltimore when she went missing on December 28, 2010.

I received some tips and did my own investigation on this case and know the police have the right person, but I also believe there may be another person involved in this case that aided Johnson.  I also read, and in order to keep from jeopardizing the case, I have to be vague in my wording, that Johnson spoke about a boat on the day that Phylicia went missing.

I was worried that there would be no justice for Phylicia.  The police  also obtained search warrants before the arrest for Johnson’s social networking profiles.
