Donald Mariacher: Missing from Pennsylvania Found

UPDATE:  On Dec 24, 2012 – Skeleton remains were found by a hunter on Dec. 1 in Mercer County around 3/4 of a mile east of Mariacher’s home.  Dental records and other information was used and the remains were found to be Donald Mariacher.  Mercer County coroner ruled the death accidental and said that exposure to the elements caused his death and his Alzheimer’s as a contributing factor, reports the Pittsburgh Post.

Please not the Pennsylvania State Police with help from personnel from numerous volunteer fire departments, local police dog units and the Northwest Pennsylvania Search and Rescue dog team, and air patrol, did everything they could to find Donald.  His family was also searching for him, and covered both sides of Route 19 in both directions, 1 mile north toward Mercer and 1 mile south toward Interstate 80.

After all that searching, it must be heart-wrenching for the family to find out that he was so near, but they still could not find him.
