Luke Stout: Missing from West Virginia

UPDATE 2/7/13 – Luke Stout has been missing for over 6 months.  He was last seen outside his mom’s home in Buchanon, West Virginia on July 18, 2012.  The police took a missing person report and that was about it. Elizabeth Stout has been searching for her son, Luke every since the last time she saw him.  And she has been asking for the police to help and for someone to come forward with information.  She leaves messages on her Facebook page about him, and post photos of him, so no one forgets he is missing.

Then in August, Jessie Lee Heater, 29, and Robert Eugene Siron III, 30, were both charged for murder-for-hire when Joshua Oberg’s body was found in a shallow grave along Bull Run Road in Upshur County.

Jesse Heater
Authorities testified that Rodolpho “Chino” Correa Villagomez  of Buckhannon paid Heater $5,000 to kill Oberg because he learned that Oberg had been involved with his wife.  Siron told police that Oberg pointed a gun at him and then gave him $500 to “keep his mouth shut” after Oberg’s death, reports The InterMountain.  The Record Delta explains the whole scenario in detail which you can read by clicking here.

So, how does all this connect?  Well turning to social media I found a post from July, 2012, shortly after Luke went missing that read, “I head that he (Luke) was seeing Chino’s wife, too.  If he and Oberg had that in common, let’s hope Stout didn’t end up like Oberg!”  Another post states “Well Chino dad threaten Luke with a gun.  He once told me of the incident but I didn’t realize it was the same guy.”

Then another post reads:
 And another post reads:

Many people have read these posts, and the Stout family has probably read them, too. Whether the police have investigating this information is not known.

Elizabeth carries on pleading for help to find her son.  In October, Elizabeth Stout showed up at a Buckhannon City Council meeting to ask for answers from Mayor Kenneth Davidson and the council about what was going on with the search for her son.  The meeting grew into an argument and the Stout family was asked to leave because the council did not think that the council meeting was the venue for them to air their feelings. Before they left, the Stout family alleged that officers did not take statements from Luke and that search parties were refused and according to them, there has only been one search.  They also stated that the FBI was not involved with the case.  Elizabeth also wanted to know more about her son’s case and said, “You said the stories didn’t match, so apparently you heard their [police officers] story.  If you heard, how come we can’t hear?”

According to InterMountain, Elizabeth also said, “Where was God the day he walked into the police station and wanted to fill out a warrant for Chino, and the cops wouldn’t take him seriously – answer me this,” Elizabeth Stout said, adding that she has been hearing that Pfc. Nick Caynor of the Buckhannon City Police has made comments about her son. “I want that to get investigated. He ought to be dismissed now.”  (PFC Nick Caynor was recognized  in 2012 for having more than 12 DUI arrests in 2011.)

“Think about a momma bear protecting her cubs, the veracity that she will go to to protect her kids,” Preston said. “Here’s Ms. Stout out there, whose son’s been missing for months. What little I know about the case is that it’s being handled either by state or federal entities. While it may have started here in the city of Buckhannon, there’s not much we can do. There’s no answer we can give the Stout family from this government body that’s going to say where is their son.” I can’t help but wonder why Preston doesn’t feel the need to get to the bottom of what Elizabeth was saying, and know more about the case than to claim he knows little.

Later that month, Elizabeth was charged with assault on a police officer for disorderly conduct after she started screaming at the hospital staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital and pulled out her IV catheter from her arm and threw it at the officer.  Kenneth Stout, Luke’s brother is also facing charges after assaulting a police officer and obstructing an officer and disorderly conduct and carrying a deadly weapon.  Robert stout was charged with domestic battery after arguing with his brother and punched him in the face.  Is the family falling apart because of their grief?  “A please for my son Luke Stout please call me!!!! With any information you might have!!!!! My number is 304-472-2141. Please do it for Luke!!! Let Luke come home!!! I am praying for you to grow a heart and tell me where my boy is!!!! If not a call, mail it to be, 92 Hickory Flat. Rd. Buckhannon WV 26201. Please. Please. Please. I am begging you with everything in me do the right thing!!!! Let me have my “lucky” !!!!!!!!Luke’s Momma, Elizabeth.”

I believe the Stout family thinks that Luke is probably deceased and probably also think it was done by someone that was hired by Chino.  What they see as a lack of attention by the police, may be so, but they are not alone.  There are 1000’s of missing people out there that are getting little and even no attention from police and media.  Some suffering in silence, some carrying on vigils, some giving all their hope to authorities and some hollering for justice.

Elizabeth’s heart wrenching call for help is loud among social media and so far no one has been able to answer that call.

Elizabeth is in both emotional and physical pain and regardless, will not go quietly into the night. On Luke’s Facebook page in Dec. 2011 he wrote:  “Every day you live your put to the test every day you live its one day less with every day thats passing its catching up with death every day you have you should feel blessed for this could be the last day you have left ~ luke stout

Previous story: Luke Stout from Buckhannon, West Virginia was last seen by his family on July 18, 2012. He is 24 yrs old, about 5’7″, 110-120 lbs, brown hair and eyes, clean shaven, large scar on his leg below his knee, he smokes and has southern accent.

His family says that Luke would not just take off. He helps to take care of his sick mother who terminally ill and can’t walk. He knows she needs him. He always calls her when he is out to check in on her and to let her know he is OK.
Luke was last seen in Buckhannon, WV. He was wearing blue jeans, black T-shirt with the sleeves cut off, black sneakers with neon green shoelaces, and possibly a coat. The police have placed him on their missing persons list.

  1. I have followed this case from day one.I don't care what others say or believe…it's plain and simple the Buckhannon police did not take a statement from Luke or his mother because they just don't care and don't care about their job except for their paycheck.Josh Oberg had been gone for what a year and a half? and that's all i read is he was in this Country illegal with no papers He got caught with all kinds of assault rifle's he was arrested put in jail and no trial yet….Hello how long more and he was charged with murder for hire…OK what's happening on that case? no trial right? now we have luke he is missing,i have heard that Josh Oberg and Luke were fooling around with his wife.OK she must of been a tramp a married woman with kids and two boyfriends. SO does that means two people probably murdered because he can't stop his wife from cheating? Come on give me a break….The police have a witness that told them where Oberg body was and the police found it there…and everyone thinks Mrs Stout shouldn't be worried, she still doesn't know where he is…excuse me the police have to do their job find Luke talk to the witness that told you where Oberg was and find out where Luke Stout is….if the police can't do their job get people in that dept. that can and the ones there now out? The job is Protect and Serve.

  2. also on the comment above this one about Josh Oberg and Luke Stout The last thing i wanted to say Rodolpho Correa Villagomez and his hire for murder friends(in my opinion) are guilty of doing something to Luke just like Oberg. When are the police going to figure it out? If the ones in there now can't do their job get them out of the department and put people that care about their job and can get the job done in their place. Thank you

  3. I just found my comment that i put on here August 5th about the Luke Stout case. I have noticed that parts of my first comment are missing. I know how to write a sentence. I would not have put AND after a question. It sounds like i was saying that Josh Oberg was in this Country illegally but my original comment was about Villagomez being here illegal not Josh…..I don't know what happened to my first comment but everything i sent does not show up on that comment.

  4. DEAR JERRIE, ABOUT THE HOSPITAL, THERE IS ALOT MORE THEIR THAN MEETS THE EYE. I JUST WISH PEOPLE WOULD GIVE OTHERS THE CHANCE TO BE HEARD ON THIER SIDE BEFORE THEY PUT IN PRINT OR ON THE TV OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT. YES THERE WAS A PROBLEM AT THE HOSPITAL. BUT IT WASN'T WHAT THEY MADE IT OUT TO BE. FOR ONE, I WAS IN CCU, SICK AS CAN BE. THERE. WAS NO WAY OF ME DOING WHAT THAT COP SAID I DID. YES I DID TAKE OUT MY IV, BUT ONLY BECAUSE THE NURSES WOULD NOT, BECAUSE I WANTED TO GO TO ANOTHER HOSPTIAL, BUT I DID NOT THROW IT AT ANYONE I WAS ON MY BED AND HIM AND KENNY WERE STANDING OVER BY THE DOOR, NOR DID ME OR KENNY ASSULT ANYONE IN ANYWAY SHAPE OR FORM!!!! OR AND THAT DEADLY WEAPON THAT KENNY WAS CARRYING, TURNED OUT TO BE IN THE LEAGEL LIMITS, AS A MATTER OF FACT IT WAS 3/4 OF AN INCH OF BEING ILLEGAL!! BUT NO THEY DIDN'T COME BACK AND SAY THAT THEY MADE A MISTAKE, DID THEY!!! LOOK WE ALL KNOW THAT MOST OF THE LAW ENFORCEMENT AROUND HERE ARE MAD AT US TO BEGIN WITH, ON THE ACCOUNT OF THEM NOT TAKEING LUKE'S STATEMENT ABOUT CHINO TO BEGIN WITH AND THEY DID NOT LIKE IT WHEN THAT TRUTH CAME OUT. AND THAT ABOUT LUKE BEING (DRUNK), COME ON USE SOME COMMON SENCE, IF HE WAS THEY WOULD OF GOTTEN LUKE FOR PUBLIC CONSUBTION, AND THEY DID NOT!!! AS FOR ROBERT, HE DID NOT PUNCH HIS BROTHER IN THE FACE!!!! ONE MORE THING THE COP THAT WAS THERE AT THE HOSPITAL, WAS THE ONE THE TOWN GOT RID OF. THEY GAVE HIM A CHOICE OF RESIGNING OR BE FIRED!!!! MAKES YOU WONDER WHAT ALL WRONGS DID HE DO??? ANY QUESTIONS???? PLEASE CALL ME….304-472-2141 LUKE'S MOMMA…MAYBE EVEN A RADIO SHOW

  5. Mrs Stout my family and i knew that the things that the police said about you and your sons in the hospital were nothing but a bunch of lies. We never believed any of it for a second. They wanted to make you and your family look bad because they didn't do their job and it was all over the internet. They didn't want anyone to believe you and your family. They wanted to make it look like your family was giving them a hard time. Maybe if you opened up your own restaurant and gave the police free food and drinks the way Villagomez did, maybe they would like you a little better ….you know the way they liked that murder for hire Villagomez when he gave them freebies all the time. One thing is for sure they probably wouldn't have done their job any better ….because i don't think they know how to find a missing person or even how to get answers from the guilty ones that are already in jail…Stay strong Mrs Stout the truth will come out…..

  6. Bless the Stout family. I cannot say I blame Elizabeth for her anger at the law enforcement. She is not about to go down without telling her story. That is a mother's love of her child driving her at this point. Any chance Luke has been placed in witness protection and possibly that is the lack of action by the police? Seems to me if someone was a illegal they would not be able to retain a legal marriage license. Did ” Chino” marry before he came across border. It would of been cheaper to get rid of her legally. Other people investigate murders besides local law or FBI. John Walsh comes to mind. I know how dirty the law can be in small town USA. God Bless the Stouts and hope they find the truth.

  7. Elizabeth, thank you so much for clarifying the information. I hope what I wrote didn't come out sounding like you were wrong. I do appreciate hearing your side of the story. I just wanted to express that whatever went on that day, you couldn't be blamed because of all you have gone through. The FBI should have been brought in to get to the bottom of this.
