Then in August, Jessie Lee Heater, 29, and Robert Eugene Siron III, 30, were both charged for murder-for-hire when Joshua Oberg’s body was found in a shallow grave along Bull Run Road in Upshur County.
So, how does all this connect? Well turning to social media I found a post from July, 2012, shortly after Luke went missing that read, “I head that he (Luke) was seeing Chino’s wife, too. If he and Oberg had that in common, let’s hope Stout didn’t end up like Oberg!” Another post states “Well Chino dad threaten Luke with a gun. He once told me of the incident but I didn’t realize it was the same guy.”
Many people have read these posts, and the Stout family has probably read them, too. Whether the police have investigating this information is not known.
Elizabeth carries on pleading for help to find her son. In October, Elizabeth Stout showed up at a Buckhannon City Council meeting to ask for answers from Mayor Kenneth Davidson and the council about what was going on with the search for her son. The meeting grew into an argument and the Stout family was asked to leave because the council did not think that the council meeting was the venue for them to air their feelings. Before they left, the Stout family alleged that officers did not take statements from Luke and that search parties were refused and according to them, there has only been one search. They also stated that the FBI was not involved with the case. Elizabeth also wanted to know more about her son’s case and said, “You said the stories didn’t match, so apparently you heard their [police officers] story. If you heard, how come we can’t hear?”
“Think about a momma bear protecting her cubs, the veracity that she will go to to protect her kids,” Preston said. “Here’s Ms. Stout out there, whose son’s been missing for months. What little I know about the case is that it’s being handled either by state or federal entities. While it may have started here in the city of Buckhannon, there’s not much we can do. There’s no answer we can give the Stout family from this government body that’s going to say where is their son.” I can’t help but wonder why Preston doesn’t feel the need to get to the bottom of what Elizabeth was saying, and know more about the case than to claim he knows little.
I believe the Stout family thinks that Luke is probably deceased and probably also think it was done by someone that was hired by Chino. What they see as a lack of attention by the police, may be so, but they are not alone. There are 1000’s of missing people out there that are getting little and even no attention from police and media. Some suffering in silence, some carrying on vigils, some giving all their hope to authorities and some hollering for justice.
Elizabeth’s heart wrenching call for help is loud among social media and so far no one has been able to answer that call.
Elizabeth is in both emotional and physical pain and regardless, will not go quietly into the night. On Luke’s Facebook page in Dec. 2011 he wrote: “Every day you live your put to the test every day you live its one day less with every day thats passing its catching up with death every day you have you should feel blessed for this could be the last day you have left ~ luke stout
