Zenobia Simmons: Missing from South Carolina Found

UPDATE:  August 27, 2012 –  Officials with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office say the body of Zenobia Simmons was recovered Sunday afternoon. Family friends had been in boats searching the area and discovered her in the water approximately 100 yards from the shore (approximately 500 yards from her home). Officials say no foul play is suspected

Zenobia Pauline Simmons, 46, was last seen Friday morning at her Vineyard Point Road home in St. Helena Island in South Carolina reports the Island Packet news.

Investigators say Simmons does not have access to a vehicle and she left behind her personal belongings, including her cell phone, according to family members.

Sheriff’s deputies K-9 units searched for Simmons Friday night and Saturday morning. The search efforts have also included a S.C. Law Enforcement Division helicopter and the sheriff’s department’s Marine Patrol.

Simmons 5’3″ tall, 115 pounds.  She was last seen wearing a blue nightgown.
