Larry Sack: Missing from Nebraska

Larry Sack, 61, from North Platte, Nebraska was reported missing last Monday afternoon, Sept. 3, 2012 when he failed to show up at a family gathering. His pickup and fishing gear was found on Tuesday near a canal. His truck and fishing equipment was found on Tuesday about six miles west of the Gerald gentleman Station.

Dive teams have searched the canal on Friday, and the search has been concentrated at the Sutherland Supply Canal.

When authorities asked for volunteers to help search, many people showed up at the Hershey Beach boat ramp on Saturday morning.

“I’ve talked to a Nebraska Public Power District employee, and the water levels on the canal will begin dropping today,” Roland Kramer, chief deputy for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office told the NP Telegraph news. “It’s a slow process, because the mudbanks could collapse if it’s done too rapidly. But, we should see the canal start to go down several inches per day.”

Anyone with information about Sack’s whereabouts is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 532-2468.
