Abigail Lefevers: Missing child from North Carolina Found

UPDATE:  Sept. 26, 2012 - Authorities say Abigaile Lefevers and Timothy Newman were found in the parking lot near a Wendy's on Hallandale Beach Boulevard about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in Hallandale Beach.

Police say Newman's vehicle was spotted by officers who stopped the car near a Denny's Restaurant on South Dixie Highway near Interstate 95. Newman was taken into custody without incident.

Abigail Faith Lefevers, 12, was last seen on McNeil Road in Newport, North Carolina. Authorities have issued an AMBER Alert.  She was last seen at her father's home on Sunday night.

Lefevers is described as 5'4" tall and weighing 90 pounds with brown shoulder-length hair.

SLED investigators are also seeking 38-year-old Timothy Howard Newman. The National Sex Offender Registry has identified Newman as a registered sex offender.
Newman was released from prison last year after spending more than six years behind bars for three counts of sex offenses by a substitute parent or guardian, reports WISTV. 
Newman  did not show up for work Monday morning.
Abigail and/or Newman may be in a 1998 red Chrysler Sebring with the North Carolina license plate number AKT 6534. The vehicle was last seen going southbound on Highway 17.
