William Gear: Child missing from California Found

The San Diego County Police Dept. has announced that William has been located and he is safe.  According to NBC 7, William told a woman on Mt. Vernon Street in Lemon Grove that he had been kidnapped and she called the police.

12-year-old William Patrick Gear, Jr. left his home in the 8700 block of Ildica Street around 8:15 this morning. He was on his way to La Presa Middle School on his blue BMX bicycle, but never arrived on campus.

Gear is a white, 4’4″ tall and weighs 90 pounds. He has Hazel eyes and blonde hair. He was last seen wearing a gray, purple and white plaid flannel over a black t-shirt; skinny blue jeans; black, white and gray shoes and a black backpack.

Gear has no history of running away, no known medical issues and has never missed a day in school.

Sheriff’s Search and Rescue (SAR) volunteers and the K-9 Unit have been activated. ASTREA is also overhead helping with the search. If you hear the helicopter making announcements overhead in your area, it is in connection with the search for the missing boy.
