Alma Lawson: Missing from North Carolina Found

UPDATE:  1/6/13 – Friday, human remains were found in Wilmington’s Love Grove community, that authorities believe they are the remains of Alma Lawson.

Alma Lawson went missing on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012.  She left on foot from a home on the 1500 block of Stanley St.  She told her friend that she was heading home, but she has not been seen since.

Lawson is a black woman, about 5’5″ tall, weighing 102 pounds. When last seen, she was wearing a lavender shirt, black pants and a black jacket.

Police and firefighters have searched all week for Lawson, including in and around Smith’s Creek. The Wilmington Fire Department launched their boat into Burnt Mill Creek to search repeatedly.  Family members say she’s possibly suffering from dementia.

Police ask if you live in the area, check your property carefully for any sign of Lawson.
