Teen goes missing after walking to father’s house FOUND

Austin Deaton walked into the Mary Breckenridge Hospital in Hyden Monday at around 12:15 a.m., just minutes into his 18th birthday, and told staff there that he was ready to return home, according to Leslie County Deputy Sam Mullins.

UPDATE:  On November 26, 2012 Austin went to the Mary Breckenridge Hospital in Hyden and told the staff that he was ready to return home.

Deputy Mullins who responded to the call said he asked Austin what happened and he didn’t have any explanation, but did say, “today is my birthday and I have decided to come back home to my family and make things right.”

Austin Deaton, 17, is missing from Hazard, Kentucky for more than a week.  Austin’s aunt, Sarah Collins, says he was last seen last Sunday in the Backwoods area of Hazard.

Austin was visiting his mother near Memorial Gym in Hazard when he told a family member he was going to Walkertown to see his father’s house.

Hazard police say they searching for Austin but have not had any leads so far.
When Austin was last seen, he was wearing a maroon Leslie County cut-off t-shirt and cargo pants.
