UPDATE: 5/10/13 -Chisago County Sheriff Rick Duncan said Friday evening that local and state law enforcement located a female body in a swamp a few hundred yards from the rural home of Jelinek's ex-boyfriend, Aaron Schnagl, reports the Duluth News.
Although not confirmed the police believe it may be the remains of Danielle Jelinek. The body was spotted by a helicopter in an area full of reeds at the edge of the swamp. The body had clothing. The area had been searched before, but because of the snow it was not seen.
UPDATE: 4/1/13 - The reward for information on the whereabouts of Danielle Jelinek, the who went missing last December, has been increased to $25,000.
Previous story: Danielle Jelinek, 27, from Cottage Grove, Minn. has been missing since Sunday. Her belongings were found at the home of a 28-year-old Chisago Lake Township man, who has been identified as Danielle's ex-boyfriend.
Police were called to check on her welfare, but did not find her, but did find her car parked outside and her purse, car keys and cell phone inside the home of the unidentified man. He was taken in to custody on possession of drugs charges.
On Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 12, 2012, a search was conducted near Lofton Avenue (County Hwy. 24) and 261st Street.
"Everything's been normal. She's not the type of person to be missing," said Sara Rubbelke, Jelinek's cousin. Rubbelke didn't know why her cousin, a manager at the Wells Fargo branch in Maplewood, was at her ex-boyfriend's home, she told the Star Tribune. "He wanted to be with her, but she didn't really want to be with him," she said.
Danielle Jelinek is 5 feet 4 inches tall and 120 pounds, with dark hair and brown eyes. Her family says she disappeared without her purse, phone, ID or shoes.
