Alyssa Byrne: Missing from Lake Tahoe Found

UPDATE: 1/4/13 –  Alyssa’s body has been found near the casino area in a snow bank  A utility worker who climbed up on an elevated ladder, spotted her.

She was about 10 feet from the Pioneer Trail.  Police reprot there is no sign of trauma and at this point they see no evidence of foul play.

On Thursday, police tracked a ping from Alyssa’s cellphone after midnight. 

They also believe they found two tweets from Alyssa suggesting she was upset.

One said she “Just lost trust in the person (she) trusted most.” That was on the afternoon of New Year’s Eve.

The other read: “After tonight, you’ll never be a part of my life. You won’t be a memory of 2013-A New Year you’ll never be a part , you’re nothing like me. “

Alyssa Byrne, 19, of Petaluma, Calif. was reported missing after she attended the SnowGlobe music event in South Lake Tahoe.  Byrne was staying in the Horizon Casino in Stateline, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said.  She was last seen around 12:30 a.m. on New Year’s Day inside the casino.

Byrne is 5 foot 3 inches and 125 pounds with black hair and blue eyes, the sheriff’s office said. She last was seen wearing a black sweatshirt, black snow boots, and black yoga-type pants with her hair pulled back.
