Previous story: Matthew McConnell-Hegland, 29, from St. Johns, Oregon has been missing since Dec. 22. McConnell-Hegland was last seen at a friend’s apartment in the 8600 block of North Columbia Blvd. Matthew texted his wife, Ricci about 30 minutes later. The friend went to sleep around 1:30 a.m., and when he woke up around 8:30 a.m., Matthew was gone.
Matthew missed Christmas, New Year’s and his oldest son’s fourth birthday.
McConnell-Hegland is described as 6 feet tall, 180 pounds, with short brown hair, hazel eyes, light facial hair and a star tattoo on his right shoulder. He was wearing a white dress shirt or green polo shirt, khaki pants and a black jacket and had a black laptop shoulder bag.
His sister-in-law told the Oregarian that he, “loves to read and often stops at coffee shops to write after working his day job at Standard Insurance. Matthew also loves theology and has attended both Red Sea and Emmaus churches.
The family is doing ongoing searched and they plan to search again at Pier Park Apartments starting at 10 a.m. on Thrursday and at Kelley Point Park starting at 10 a.m. Saturday.
