Lindsey Strikeleather missing from Statesville Found

UPDATE:  Police said a former tenant called Stikeleather from help then robbed and killed him, leaving his body under the Eufola Road bridge about six miles west of Statesville.

Bobby Joe Jackson, 45, is charged with murder, kidnapping and robbery.

Iredell County sheriff’s deputies began searching for Stikeleather on Monday night when Ruth, his wife of 69 years, reported that he never came home after going to meet Jackson.

Previous story: Lindsey Stikeleather, 88, from Statesville, N.C. was last seen on Monday afternoon, March 25, 2013  after conducting business at a local bank on West Front Street reports the Iredell County Police. 



Stikeleather’s family said he left home on Monday to meet with someone who owed him past-due rent and then proceeded to the bank.

Stikeleather was wearing dark blue dress pants, a light blue shirt and a tan windbreaker jacket. He was also wearing a blue cap.
