Adrienne Salinas missing from Tempe after car found with damage Found

UPDATE: 8/15/13 - Police confirmed that the remains found belong to Adrienne.

As many as 100 personnel from different agencies are searching the area and will continue tomorrow to look for evidence, as they don't believe she was put in the area where she was found and recent rain may have washed her remains to where it was found.

UPDATE 8/15/13 - The Apache Junction police announced today that a property owner called  on Aug 6, to state he had found remains in a wash near State Route 88 and Lost Dutchman Boulevard .

Apache Junction police called Tempe police  because the remains were similar in size and stature to Adrienne Salinas.

"We don't know where the body came from," said Sgt. Mike Pooley, a spokesman for the Tempe Police Department. The remains were sent to the Pima County medical examiner. Checking the DNA will take about a week, according to authorities.

The area had significant flooding July 21.

UPDATE 7/18/13 - For information has come out from the police.  They stated that Francisco Arteago has passed several lie detector tests and he is not a person of interest in the disappearance of Adrienne.

The police also talked about what happened before she disappeared.

They stated that Francisco told them they Adrienne had gotten mad at him because she didn't think he was paying enough attention to her. She told him to go, but then followed him to the car and got in and told him to take her to his house in Scottsdale.  On the way there they continued to argue.  When they got to his house they still were arguing so Francisco went outside.  When he came back in Adrienne was gone and then he saw her walking toward Indian School Road.  He caught up to her in his car and told her he would take her home.  She got in but when he got to a red light at Fifth Street and Mill Avenue, Adrienne got out of the car leaving her phone.  Francisco said he saw her phone and he brought it to her and then watched her walk away towards her apartment.

Francisco Arteago (5 news)
Arteaga told police he Adrienne called 11 times  between 4:10 a.m. and 4:17 a.m., including a text message that stated "I'm coming over," sent at 4:43 a.m., that he didn't answer.

Police also stated that surveillance video from O'Reilly Auto Parts at 1002 W. University showed a woman that looked like Adrienne walking through the west parking lot of the store at 4:52 a.m. A dark four-door vehicle is also seen heading northbound through the same parking lot two minutes later, according to the police report.

UPDATE 7/1/13 - The father of the cab driver has come forward to discuss what happened when his son was suppose to pick up Adrienne.  According to Thomas Simon, owner of Scottsdale Cab Guy, his son, Tom was on his way to pick up Adrienne and was in contact with her by phone.

Simon said his son called Salinas at 5:04 a.m. and 5:05 a.m. to make sure she was headed to the gas station. He said at 5:06 a.m., Salinas called his son, saying she'd be there in a minute. Then he called Salinas at 5:07 a.m. looking for her, but the phone went to voicemail.

Simon also said his son got out of the cab and looked around for Adrienne but didn't see her.

Tom's home has been searched and a DNA sample was taken.  Police look very carefully at the last person that is known to have been in contact with the missing person.  No word what Tom did after that event, like whether his shift was over or he went home or went to another call.

Another interesting detail about this case is the 911 call that came in.  The woman told the dispatcher that there may have been two people in the car during the accident.  Is is possible that someone was with Adrienne this whole time.  Someone was with her during the car accident, someone was with her when she went back to her house (there is still not definite conclusion whether she went back to the house or not) and someone was with her when she called a cab?

UPDATE:  6/30/13 - Maricopa County sheriff’s deputies on Saturday morning did an extensive search for Adrienne.  They set up a command post near Hardy Drive and Brown Street and more than 30 officials searched the area and asked the public questions.  They have also spoken with the FBI to make sure they have done everything they could to search for Andrienne.  Maricopa County Sheriff's you rock! and we appreciate you and what you are doing to find Adrienne.  We wish there were more officials like you. You are an example of what a police dept. should be.

Previous story:
Adrienne Salinas, 19, from Tempe, Arizona has been missing since Saturday, June 15.  She is a students at Gateway Community College and she left her apartment at 3 a.m. and told her roommates she was going to drive to her boyfriend's home in Scottsdale.  She sent him a text message at 4:47 a.m. telling him she was on her way and at 5:07 a.m. her cell phone was turned off.

Police say said there has been no trace of her since 5:05 a.m. that morning, when she called a cab, but a cabdriver was unable to find her.

There was a report of an accident at Ash and Rio Salado Parkway and Adrienne's car was found a block away with the front end damaged and two flat tires.   A witness actually saw the car strike a median and then speed away.  There is no verification that Adrienne was driving the car.

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office are stating that her disappearance is suspicious.

Authorities have searched Town Lake but there is no clues that the missing woman could be in the lake.

Anyone with information about Salinas' disappearance or her location is asked to call Tempe police at (480) 350-8311.
