Ahlittia North: 6-year-old missing from Harvey Found

UPDATE 7/16/13 – Authorities have found the dismembered remains of Ahlittia in a garbage can about 100 feet from her home. 

A person of interest is being sought.  Matthew Flugence, 20, was known to babysit Ahlitta and is a suspect in the sexual battery of a 11-year-old girl.  Flugence is Albert Hill’s nephew.  Hill is Ahlittia’s father. 

Flugence lived with Ahlittia’s parents at the apartment in the 2900 block of Destrehan Avenue for a short period of time, according to Hill’s brother-in-law, Bernard Barnett, 51, of Harvey. Flugence also lived with his brother in another nearby apartment in the same stretch of apartment buildings.

Ahlittia North, 6, went missing from her home on 2900 block of Destrehan Avenue in  Harvey, Louisiana.

She was put to bed around 11 and when the parents woke up around 9 the following morning, the front door was ajar and Ahlitita was gone.

Ahlittia’s blanket, toothbrush and toothpaste were also gone and the police found no forced entry.

The door was found to be unlocked, although the parents remembered it had been locked.

Ahlittia has been living with her grandmother and just moved back in with her parents a month ago.

Ahlittia was last seen wearing a gray tank top and pink pajama bottoms and has shoulder-length braided hair.
