Dereck Ashe: Boy missing from Arizona FOUND

UPDATE: Police have located the missing boy, he is safe. Tucson police say they have found a boy who went missing Sunday night.
Police say Ashe spent the night at the home of a close family friend. The family friend was not aware t
hat police were looking for the boy.

Previous story:  Dereck Ashe, 9, from Tuscon, Arizona went missing on Sunday, Dec 8.  He left his home on the 1500 block of North Craycraft Road around 2 p.m., after getting in an argument with his dad.  When his father could not find him, he called 911 around 7:45 p.m.

The police state that Dereck has used public transportation and goes to places alone.  The police checked his school on Monday but he was not there.

 “Dereck is familiar with using public transportation and does so regularly. In addition, he is frequently allowed to travel by himself to various locations, such as school, grocery stores, friends’ houses, etc.,” TPD Sgt. Maria Hawke told the Tucson Sentinel.

Dereck is between 3 feet 5 inches and 4 feet tall, weighs 70 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black and green jacket, blue jean pants and black Nike tennis shoes.
 Anyone with information about Dereck’s whereabouts is asked to call 911.
