UPDATE: 1/12/14 – A body found washed ashore in Woods Hole in teh area of Penzance Point on Sunday was identified as Dana’s.
Falmouth police said there was no evidence of trauma and the state medical examiner will conduct an autopsy.
The police are continuing their search for Dana Dourdeville of Marion, Mass. He left his family’s home around 2 p.m. on Dec. 31, 2013 with a kayak to go duck hunting. He did not return by dark and his mother Karen went to search for him and found his car in the parking lot at West Island in Fairhaven. She reported him missing and the Coast Guard found his kayak floating about three miles off the island. It was dry inside with one glove.
Dana is a Brown University student and graduated as valedictorian of his class at Old Rochester Regional. In 2010, he was the two-time Standard-Times Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year.
