Shonda Renee Stansbury, 24, has been missing since Dec. 9, 2006 from Roanoke Rapids, N.C.
There were reports of two men chasing her in the woods near the Information Grocery store off U.S. Highway 158 and she was seen at the local Waffle House beaten and bruised. The police searched the area and found nothing. The RRDaily Herald reported that on Dec. 15, 2006:
A female caller told emergency communications personnel she had seen Stansbury, nude and apparently bleeding from the nose, running across Highway 158 toward a wooded area near 903, having emerged from behind the Information Grocery wearing nothing and being chased by two black males, one described as dark-skinned, about five feet, eight inches tall with a stocky build, wearing a ball cap and blue jeans, the other with lighter skin, about five feet, six inches tall, with dreadlocks and wearing blue jeans with patches on them. The caller told police Stansbury was calling for help as the men pursued her.
The family stated in 2010 that Shonda ended her relationship with her boyfriend in Virginia and started drinking and doing drugs. Shonda has four children.
