UPDATE 7/23/16 – A man has been arrested in connection with the Chelsea Bruck murder case.  Daniel Clay, a 27-year-old man was arrested at his home in the Frenchtown Villa Mobile Home Park in Monroe County by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.  The Michigan State Police linked evidence from the crime scene to the man.  When confronted he admitted he was involved with her murder, and stated information only the killer would have known reported the Detroit news.  Sheriff Dale Malone told the Monroe News “he believes the man acted alone and had a chance encounter with Miss Bruck at the party and built a rapport with her. He then met up with her as she left the party and was walking along Post Rd. not far from the entrance.”  The suspect lived around Monroe County for years and at the time of Chelsea’s disappearance and murder he lived two miles away from where her body was located  The man had a long criminal history according to the Detroit Free Press.  He has not been formally charged at this time. UPDATE:   4/26/15 – The Monroe County Sheriff Dale Malone stated that the clothing found in a field in Flatrock did belong to Chelsea.  The costume that Chelsea wore was a unique hand-made costume.

Malone said evidence suggest she was killed at or near where her body was found about the time of her disappearance, reports Michigan Live.  The sheriff said the word “he” but it is not clear if that was because he has a suspect in mind, or was just a slip up, as frankly it would be rare for the suspect to turn out to be a woman.

“I believe he was — I believe the person was familiar with the railroad tracks that are there, which has been a common parking area in the past” Malone said. “I believe the person is familiar with the area, and that’s what led the person to that area.”

UPDATE:  4/25/15 – Remains have been found in Monroe County near a construction site on Friday.  The location is about 10 miles from where Chelsea Bruck, who went missing from a Halloween party was last seen.  They were positively identified as belonging to Chelsea Bruck.

The remains were found by the property owner who was working on building a home in a remote area off Briar Hill Rd. in Ash Township and he stopped to look at his excavating equipment, that was giving him trouble.

The police have stated the remains did not have any clothing but nothing if there was any identifying evidence there.  Back on April 6, some clothing which was similar to the Halloween clothing Chelsea was wearing was found in a field in Flatrock, in an abandoned industrial site formerly known as Specialty Petroleum, on Peters Road south of Van Horn Road.  This is about 10 miles from where the body was found.

Chelsea’s remains have been found

The remains were taken to the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office for identification.

UPDATE:  4/6/15 – According to WWJ news, some clothing which is similar to the Halloween costume that missing Chelsea Bruck was wearing when she disappeared has been found in a field in Flatrock.

The clothing will be tested for DNA and to find out if it is indeed what Chelsea’s costume.  The field location is not too far from where the party was.

Chelsea’s sister told WWJ news that the authorities were asking everyone to stay away so they could do the investigation.

Although a composite was sent out of a possible suspect, no person of interest has been found.

UPDATE:  3/19/15 –  Reports are coming in that several LE agencies are at the Lake Erie Shoreline, near the Pointe Mouillee State Game Area off of Jefferson Avenue and Sigler Road in Berlin Charter Township which is near where Chelsea was last seen.

No confirmation that they are looking for her, but rumors are they are searching for someone that has been missing for awhile.

This cryptic message is being investigated by the police.

UPDATE:  11/5/14 – During a press conference, Sheriff Dale Malone said that Chelsea had run into a wooden post and gashed her head on the night of the party hosted by Mike Williams, the lead singer of the Pick Axe Preachers. The post hit her on the bridge of the nose and forehead.  Afterwords, several friends offered her a ride home.  She stayed at the party till around 3 a..m.  Chelsea had also been at Mike’s house for a party back in June.

Police say they have “no reason” to believe that Chelsea is not alive. The person that there was a sketch and description released is not a person of interest but was the last person known to have talked with Chelsea that night.

UPDATE 1/15/15 –  Investigators say Kerri Ann Carr lied when she claimed that her ex-boyfriend confessed to killing Chelsea.  Carr was only interested in stirring up trouble for her ex.

Also,  Harlin Bird of Flat Rock who was at the same party that Chelsea was at, admitted to lying to police because he wanted to look like a hero.
