Today the police announced the following:

“The following information is fragmentary and has not been completely verified. It is based, in part, on hearsay and is intended for early information use rather than being a formal investigative report.

On March 25, 2015, at about 11:19 a.m. surveyors working in the area of the 3200 block of Alpine Boulevard in Alpine, Calif. located the skeletal remains of an unknown human being. It appears the remains have been at the location for quite some time.

Detectives from the Homicide Detail responded to the location and will be handling the investigation.

A cause and manner of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Homicide Detail at (858) 974- 2321/after hours at (858) 565-5200 or Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-TIPS(8477).”

I thought it might be Mike Brown whose last known whereabouts where on 3685 Alpine Blvd. in 1995, but on his Facebook page it says he was found on March 17, 2015.
