Eloi Vasquez: UC Berkeley Freshman and Men’s Soccer Team member missing Found

UPDATE:  3/30/15 – The body of Eloi Vasquez has been found.  He was hit by a car eastbound Interstate 10 near an on ramp.  The person stopped and called the police.  Eloi’s body was not identified till Monday.

The family of a missing UC Berkeley student is offering a $100,000 reward for information that leads authorities to him.

Eloi Vasquez, 19, is a UC Berkeley Freshman and a member of the men’s soccer team.  He was last seen at University of Southern California (USC) on Friday evening, March 27, at a party in the 600 block of West 28th Street in Los Angeles, an area south of downtown and home to USC, with his soccer teammates at TKE fraternity.

At 2:18 am he called a friend, Aurora Cardena in Berkeley at 2:18 a.m. saying he was at a beach and needed help because he was lost.  She asked where he was and he said he was in LA.He called again and he said he was at the beach, and she told him again to reach out to his friends who were at the party with him, as she was in northern California. 

 Eloi was staying at USC with Andrew Zolintakis, a student at USC.  He was reported missing by his friends to USC Security and the LAPD at 2 p.m. on Saturday.


His parents filed a missing persons report on Sunday morning, March 29th, with the LAPD (DR#159911627) with Officer Roberts in the Southwest Police Station.
