Lincoln Hilt: Police still searching for missing 6-year-old in river Found

UPDATE:  4/11/15 – Lincoln’s body was recovered about 100 yards away from the dock where he fell in.  The police have determined there was no foul play and the death was accidental.

Police are continuing their search for missing Lincoln Hilt, the 6-year-old boy that went missing along the Missouri River on Sunday, April April 6, 2015.  He was fishing with his family on the dock and at some point Lincoln fell into the water.

In a press conference, Yankton Police Chief Brian Paulsen says the search for Lincoln Hilt will be hampered on Thursday due to weather conditions, but will continue this weekend. Paulsen also said the search is now being viewed as a recovery effort for the boy’s body.

Lincoln’s fishing pole and equipment have not been found.  Police talked with Lincoln’s biological father who had just been released from prison in Springfield.  The father was in Wisconsin on that Sunday.
