North Carolina woman disappears on morning she was to give birth Found

UPDATE 6/10/15 – “Is Carrie Bradshaw Crowther’s baby OK?” reporter Trish Williford asked.

“Carrie is presently hospitalized and is receiving much needed medical care, while it is unfortunate we no longer expect a new addition to our family and ask for your continued prayers,” said Drew Bradshaw, Crowther’s brother.

UPDATE:  6/9/15 –  According to police, CVS in Boone called the police and stated:

“They called and said a suspicious woman had come in, but she didn’t look exactly like her picture online. She had dark hair and looked about the same age but didn’t look pregnant or anything like that,” said clerk Eva Clause.

When police found her car and they approached, she said, “I’m Carrie.”

She has been taken to the hospital for evaluation, but it may also be a psychiatrist evaluation.  There are theories that maybe Carrie was never pregnant.

Carrie’s Facebook page posted this message, and the page is down now as I can no longer find it.  I doubt that in a few days you will be able to find any information on this case or any conclusion to what happened.

“Carrie’s family has arrived at hospital a short time ago. They are waiting to speak with doctors. Carrie is no longer missing and no updates, regarding condition of her or baby, as yet. As doctors running tests and with her. Family waiting to speak with the doctors. Thank you all, I’m sorry no real details available, yet. We ask if you can please delete missing posters that you may have shared. We will be closing this page (since located safely…for privacy) following family statements in the next day, or two.”

“Please understand that due to HIPPA laws we cannot divulge diagnosis, nor conditions of all. We will, of course, leave that to Carrie and her family to make that decision, when appropriate.”
“Thank you very much for all the prayers and well wishes.”

UPDATE:   A van was spotted on N.C. Highway 105 near  Boone that matched the description of Carrie’s.  Inside a woman that has been identified as  Carrie, according to WSOC.

Law enforcement said that someone used Carrie’s ATM at a gas station and at the CVS in Boone.  Carrie was taken to the hospital.

Original Story:  On the morning that a North Carolina woman was to give birth to her baby she goes missing.

Carrie Bradshaw-Crowther, 49, from Salisbury went missing Tuesday, June 2, 2015.   She was preparing to go to the hospital in Charlotte, N.C. that day to have a c-section and her daughter, Lauren Lusk left the home to get gas for the car for their trip.  When she returned 10 minutes Carrie was gone, along with her champagne-colored 2001 Mazda MPV van.

Lauren said her mom was in a great mood and was happy.  They needed to be at the hospital that day, but Carrie never returned nor did she show up at the hospital.

Then on Wednesday, Carrie was spotted at a convenience store in Statesville, reported WBTV.  Did Carrie run away?  Was someone forces her to go somewhere?  Did she have another plan other than having her baby at the hospital.

Lauren said that her mom had a high-risk pregnancy and she had to have a c-section she may die otherwise.

Police has searched for her and were able to determine that someone called Carrie’s phone about 20 minutes after she went missing, but they don’t know who the phone call was from.  Her phone is now off.

If you have any information to her whereabouts, please call 704-638-5333.

  1. Sounds like she planned this…putting on a “Happy Show” for the daughter then sending the daughter off on an errand so she could take-off. Motive? Who knows? Have to be nuts to have a baby at 49 years-old anyway. All's well that ends well…I guess
