George “Uncle Waldo” Contos disappeared from Bunnell leaving his classic car abandoned

Police and family are no closer to knowing what happened to a missing Florida man than they were when he went missing in May.

George Contos, 58, from Bunnell was last seen at his  home at 5853 Apricot Lane in Daytona North on May 7.  Police went inside the home to do a welfare check as his family lived in Connecticut and could not get a hold of him after several days.  When the police went inside they could find nothing out of the ordinary.  Information came out that George was going to visit a friend in South Carolina, but that lead went cold when George never showed up.  He was evidently spotted in Palm Coast’s F Section on May 9, but has not been seen since.  His car, a 1977 white Lincoln Town Car with Florida plates was found near the Palm Coast Parkway abandoned.

George also known as Uncle Waldo is a diabetic and his left leg was amputated and he wears a prosthetic leg.  He is 5’11” tall and 240 pounds.

Authorities are considering foul place and are reaching out to the public for any information or tips on what happened to George.
