BJ Beam Hughes missing from South Carolina since 2000

Billie Jo Beam-Hughes, 20, lived on Thornwood Drive in Willamston, S.C. with her disabled mother Laura, who was blind.  Billie Jo went by the nickname of BJ and she told her mother she was going to the beach with her friends.  She did not return home and Laura heard about 10 days later that she did not come back with those friends.  Laura reported her daughter missing to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.

Through their investigation the police found out that BJ was last seen visiting friends in the town of Willamston, S.C..    She got a ride at the Williamston Crub Market to the intersection of Hwy-8 and Hwy-20 in Pelzer.  She was last seen walking toward a pay phone on July 6, 2000.

The authorities stated that it was unlike BJ to leave her mother alone and would check on her daily.

BJ is 5’8” tall, 190 pounds and brown eyes and at the time she had long brown hair.
