UPDATE:  11/27/15 –  Davis’s head has still not been recovered. Its current location is unknown, the sources said.

A headless body found in a Newark garage on Monday has been identified as a missing woman that has not been seen since Oct. 30, 2015.

Pamela Davis, 51, was located after someone called the police about a foul smell coming from a home on the 800 block of South 11th Street, reports ABC 7 news.  Authorities found a body underneath a blanket inside the garage of the home.  The body was bound and headless.

The home where Davis’ body was found is being rented by a local neighborhood mechanic.  He was taken in for questioning by police and is now being called a person of interest in the murder.

The family had reported Davis, a mother of two who lived on 8th Street, a few blocks away from where she was found, missing after she did not return home on that Friday.

If you have any information about the case, please call the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office at 1-877-847-7432.
