Drake Kramer goes missing from Grand Canyon National Park

UPDATE  1/12/16 – Drake Kramer is still missing.

Original story:  Drake Kramer, 21, from San Antonio has been missing from Grand Canyon National Park since Feb. 7, 2015.

Robbin Kramer, Drake’s dad said he saw his son on Jan. 29, then lost contact with him.  When he called him he found out via his friends that Drake was staying at a co-worker’s house.  When they texted him on Sunday, they were surprised to find out that he was 1000 miles away in Arizona.    He sent a text to his dad that said,  “he needed to be back with Mother Earth.”

He told his parents he was taking a solo trip to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon and checked in to the Bright Angel Lodge.  His family reported him missing on Monday when he did not return.

Kramer spent lots of time outdoors and was studying geology at Northwest Vista College.

“There had to be people that saw him when he filled up for gas. We’d really like to know if anyone saw him purchase any of the appropriate equipment with cash,” Robbin Kramer told ABC news. “If anyone along the way saw him, heard anything, any information would be great.”

Kramer has brown hair and blue eyes, 5’7” tall, and 140 pounds.  If you have any information please call the authorities at 928-638-7840 or leave a tip here.
