Senior who goes missing on way to buy lottery ticket, found at bottom of hole

A man that missing on his way to buy a Powerball lottery ticket has been found at a bottom of a hole.

Ascension Garcia, 67, left his home in Fort Worth, Texas on Monday to head up to the neighborhood store.  His family called the police when he did not return.  Police searched the area until dark, when an officer came across a large open hole about seven feet deep and found Garcia laying at the bottom of it  in shallow water. 

Garcia who has Parkinson’s disease was bruised, wet and in need of medical attention reports the Dallas News, but was otherwise alright. 

Evidently the hole was made by a construction crew and Garcia fell into it on his way to the store, and was not able to get back out.

“Because of the quick thinking and dedication the officers exhibited, this man and his family can say they truly won the biggest lottery of all! Great Job FWPD!” the department said on Facebook.
