Amber Alert for 8-year-old after machete attack

UPDATE:  According to ICE, Mabel Lopez and her mother Miria Lopez-Ramirez entered the US in September from Guatemala.  A GPS ankle Monitor was put on Miria and on Feb. 18, the ankle monitor alerted she had left outside the designated area and later that her ankle monitor had been removed near Gainesville, Texas.

An Amber Alert was issued for Mabel Lopez on Feb. 18. Authorities believe she and her mother are in Texas with Lopez-Ramirez’ husband, Arcenio De Jesus. De Jesus has been accused of attacking two people with a machete in El Reno around 11 p.m. on Feb. 17.  The initial Amber Alert was discontinued in Feb. 2016 when Mabel could not be located.

Original Story:  An Amber Alert has been activated for a missing child following a machete attack that injured two people in Oklahoma, according to News 9.  Mabel Lopez, 8, went missing from the 200 block of Elm Street in El Reno after two men were stabbed at the home around 11 p.m.  One made it to the grocery store across the street and the police were called.  The other was found laying in the front yard.  Authorities believe that Lopez may be with her parents Arsenio De Jesus, 39 and Miria Lopez Rodriguez, 33, who are listed as suspects in the case.

They are both from Guatemala and may be heading there in a gray 2005 Ford Explorer with Oklahoma license plate 689LHD.  Authorities believe at this time they may be in Texas.

If you see the car or Mabel, please notify 911.
