UPDATE:  4/21/16 – It is just now coming out that when Nicole’s car was found on Saturday that the authorities found a suicide note inside the car.  Then around 2 p.m. today her body was located about a mile away from where her car was found.  No positive identification has been made at this time.

UPDATE 4/20/16 – New information has come out on this case.  We now know that Nicole called in sick for her shift on Wednesday.  She also sent a text message to her dad at 10:50 that morning.  The family has tried to get access to her cell phone records, but the company will not accommodate them, which they do not have to do because of privacy laws.  Also, because Nicole’s disappearance is not considered foul play, the police can not subpoena the records.  The family did know she downloaded several files and are wondering if they were maps.

UPDATE 4/19/16 – Fairfax County Fire Chief Richard R. Bowers Jr. said at the news conference, “We are putting out a 911 call to the general public and media to help find” Mittendorff.

Nicole K. Mittendorff, 31, is a career firefighter and paramedic with the Fairfax County Fire Department.  She was to report to work on Friday for her shift but she did not show up.  Her last contact was via text messages about 10:50 a.m. from the area of Warrenton, VA (Fauquier County) on Wednesday, according to a FindNicole Facebook page. Her father also stated in a post that she participates in triathlons, and possibly she was in that area to train and she is hurt in a location with no cell service.  Note that the area she traveled to is over a hour away from her home.  There has been questions why Nicole deleted her Facebook account and according to her sister she did it because of a personal matter related to rude posts sent to her. They do not believe that it is connected to her disappearance.  There are no searches being done by volunteers, but authorities have been searching non stop.

Nicole is 5’6″ tall, 125 pounds with blonde hair and green eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to call Virginia State Police at 703-803-0026.
