Well-known Recreation Supervisor missing in Anton

UPDATE:  Bill has been found safe in Florida.

“I just got off the phone from his daughter probably about 15 minutes ago and she said he was found in Florida somehow,” officials said. “He is not missing anymore. Right now, it is just speculation on why he might have gone there but it was out of character for him.


Alton’s recreation supervisor, and former teacher at Alton High and East Jr. High, William “Bill” Diddlebock has been missing since April 8, 2017 from Alton, Illinois.  Bill is a well-known and liked in his community and his missing has brought a lot of comments on social media.  Comments also state he did not have his cell phone with him.  The Alton Police Dept. is asking for the public to keep an eye out for him and call them if they see him.

His daughter posted:

My dad left the house at 3 pm yesterday and said he was going golfing. He has never returned and apparently never made it to any area golf courses. He is driving a [black] 2010 Ford Edge. Please call me at 593-1182 if you have any information. We are so worried and just want our dad home safe. Thank you to everyone for sharing this post and for the calls and texts and prayers.
