Kidnapped Dominic Caprio found; nanny arrested

Dominic Caprio, 4, has been located as of Friday, August 11, 2017, 12:30 central time.

Dominic went missing from Regions Way in Jupiter, Florida.  He was first known to be missing when his mother returned home and found Dominic’s nanny, Blanca Castro and Dominic gone around 1:24 p.m. Thursday, reports WBPF.  An Amber Alert was issued and Blanca Castro was located on Friday, but Dominic was not with her.  Castro was charged with kidnapping.

“We’ve always been concerned about this, from evidence we have, this was planned, this was organized and we obviously have kidnapping charges against the nanny that tells you it is very, very serious. We just need to get Dominic home,” Jupiter Police Chief Frank Kitzerow told WBPF.

Further investigation led police to believe that Dominic had been given to his grandparents, Elizabeth and Luis Caprio.  They were believed to be driving a blue 2013 BMW 740i with Florida plates CBDB47.

Miami television stations Friday showed the Caprio home with a car parked behind locked gates at a Coconut Grove community in Miami that resembled the BMW that was being looked for.  No information as to whether the grandparents were aware of Castro’s plans.  No word from police yet where Dominic was found.
