Two teens go missing in Indiana, car found burned

March 5, 2019 – Conner Kerner, of Valparaiso, was charged Monday morning with two counts of murder in the deaths of Thomas and Molley. According to ABC 7, “the Porter County Sheriff’s Department said the two teens went to Kerner’s grandparents’ house in Hebron to pick up drugs. Kerner told police that during the meet, Grill allegedly tried to rob him. Authorities said that’s when Kerner turned the gun on Grill, shot him several times, and beat him to death with a pipe wrench. Minutes later, Kerner allegedly shot and killed Lanham.”

Kerner allegedly told someone about it and that person told the police. Kerner also said he set the car on fire with the bodies inside.

Police stated they found two bodies inside the vehicle, but have not made a positive identification yet.

March 4, 2019 – A 17-year-old male will be charged with two counts of murder. Two bodies were found but no identification of the bodies has been announced by authorities at this writing.

Original Story – Molley Lanhan, 19, and Thomas Grill, 18, have been missing from Indiana since February 25, 2019, according to the Northwest Indiana Times.  The Sun-TImes is reporting that a person has been arrested in connection with their disappearance.

The Porter County sheriff’s office said in a statement that after following up on tips they found a burnt vehicle in south Porter County. Molley and Thomas were last seen in a 2012 black Honda Civic with a Riley Kids Children’s Hospital License plate with the #RY9007.

The Porter County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook:

“Porter County Sheriff’s Office Detectives, Porter County Sheriff’s Office C.S.I. and Valparaiso Police Department C.S.I., are currently working with the St. John and Cedar Lake Police Departments regarding a missing person’s case initiated in St. John, Indiana earlier this week. Porter County Detectives have been following up on several tips regarding the reported missing individuals; 19 year old St. John resident, Molley Lanham and 18 Year old Cedar Lake resident, Thomas Grill. A burnt out vehicle was located in south Porter County early this morning. Detectives have a suspect in custody. This is still an active investigation and no further information will be released at this time. When formal charges are filed, a follow up release will be issued by the Porter County Sheriff’s Office.”
