Joel Stephany missing from New York

Joel Stephany, 27, was last seen near Clinton Avenue in Rochester, New York around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 27, 2019, by a friend that dropped him off there. The friend said he picked up Joel from his apartment in Honeoye Falls, New York. Rochester is about 30 minutes away from Rochester.

Wendy, Joel’s mom said, “A friend of his says he picked him up at his apt and dropped him off in Rochester, but the last KNOWN location is Joel’s apartment in Honeoye Falls.”

The family realized Joel was missing about two days later when the friend said he went by Joel’s apartment and it seemed as though his dogs had not been cared for in a couple of days.

That’s when the friend said he gave Joel a ride into Rochester and dropped him off around N. Clinton, but that was as specific as he got.

Joels last call was at 7:15 either to or from his friend, but after that his phone went dead because it was not charged.

Joel had a paid round trip flight to Denver and a 3-day pass for a Phish concert that weekend and his family says he would not have missed that.

The family also believes that the friend is not telling everything or is lying about driving Joel to the city. The friend has not allow the police access to his phone or car.

Joel was last seen wearing green pants and a blue flannel shirt. He has a Roman numeral on the inside of his upper left arm. Joel is 6 feet tall and 190 pounds with blue eyes and long brown hair tied back and a mole under his left eye.

The family has put up flyers in the neighborhood since Joel went missing.

I am thinking that it is possible that Joel may still be in Rochester and may be at or near the homeless centers in the area. I looked at a map and seen many in the area. If you live in the area, please keep an eye out for him.

Please report any information or sightings to the Monroe County (NY) Sheriff’s Dept. or Rochester Crimestoppers.
